MYLIFEMATTERSTOO (MLMT)Is a movement that has taken a realistic approach towards humanizing incarcerated men and women by giving them a voice and platform to show and prove that their lives have greater significance beyond the sum of their errors. This platform will be used for: Teaching, learning, interpersonal communication and opportunities for personal development. Expanding educational opportunities to the incarcerated will also help with rehabilitation.
By creating a multi platform approach, we also create a forum that encourages a serious dialogue and effort between and amongst entrepreneurs, executives, civil leaders, policy makers and audience members to connect with educators and administrators to develop ideas and initiatives that will provide participants with a thorough, thoughtful and complete voice for change within our flawed criminal justice system. Our success will be measured by our abiity to bring about a positive change in the way that the public at large views the incarcerated.
The objectives of the MLMT initiative are to provide participants (incarcerated and public) with structured programming, information and awareness about acceptance, tolerance and forgiveness for self and others. By offering a glimpse into the lives of our members through literacy and social encounters and personal experiences such as essays, poetry, biographies, memoirs, letters, art and music, etc. , we hope to enlighten the public on the plight of these individuals’ sruggles, pain, skills and talents through the steps taken towards the path of redemption and atonement.
In April of 2018 I met Quentin Jones we began our work with Quentin Jones at which time he desired to bring his idea of MYLIFEMATTERSTOO alive and available for the public. He was interested in working with the youth and in giving back to the society that he once was a part of helping to destroy. We assist him in helping to make his dreams a reality.
